Sunny was born before me; my parents got him as a kitten, along with Moonie. Sunny died when I was a kid, about nine. I wish now that I had taken more photographs of him and that I remembered him more. What I do remember is how soft he was, and what a nice cat he was. One of the things I remember about him is that every time I was sick, he came and layed down with me. He always seemed to know when I didn't feel good and seemed to want to help to make me feel better. I still miss him for that reason sometimes... whenever I'm sick, or lonely, or scared or whatever, I always want a cat to lay with me. I suppose Sunny spoiled me in that way. I also remember how we could open a bag of chips and it wouldn't matter where he was, Sunny would come running; he loved potato chips. I guess he also sat at the table with us, and he also loved eating french fries.
I never cried when my grandmother died, but boy did I whail when Sunny died. For a long time, he was one of my best friends. Sunny is buried at my other grandmother's house, by the catnip garden, along with Moonie and Frank. I can't listen to the song "You are my sunshine, my only sunshine" without thinking of him and wanting to cry. There are some days when I still miss him, even after 15 years.
